Be it enacted by the decision of management of Association of Polish Artists of Caricature, the Foundation of Festival of European Satire "Billy goats", were honoured with the prestigious ERYK statuette for the highest level and splendour organization of The Festival of European Satire "Billy goats" – Poznan 2008.

 

 

The Summary of The Festival of European Satire "Billygoats" (FSE) – Poznan, 2008

  • 150 artists, from 29 European countries and 15 artists beyond Europe submitted 451 pieces of their works for the contests. 85 works of 53 artists from Europe and 3 works of one artist beyond Europe was qualified for the exhibition. >>gallery<<

  • Jury debated on the 20th and 21st of June 2008. The choice of the prizewinners was not easy since submitted works was on a very high level. The jury presented 10 awards whereas the patrons and sponsors of the festival additional 8.

  • During the brake between sessions, members of the jury and their guests were visiting Poznan. As befits the “Billygoats” festival at 12 a.m. our guests were admiring billy goats on the city hall tower and then they were visited the City Hall, Old Market and Parish Church. After the dinner, another portion of attraction was waiting for them, namely trip to New Zoo and Malta Ski.
  • The Festival of European Satire "Billygoats" (FSE) – Poznan, 2008 lasted from 04.01.2008 to 19.15.2008. It started with announcing The International Satirical Contest and ended with the artistic fest in the city centre and the auction of the Eiffel Tower which was the main element of the set design of this event.
  • he artistic programme was prepared and led by Krzysztof Deszczyński. Of course, French atmosphere was dominating. The audience admired shows of singers, musicians and dance troupes, organ grinders and choirs, and also theatre actors, acrobats, clowns and masquerade. Special competitions and games combined with drawing were organized for children. There was also excellent food (delicacy of the Polish and French cuisine) and drinks (from spring water to French wine). And almost everybody wanted to take a commemorative picture under the Eiffel Tower!
  • The Final of The Festival took place in Poznan during 6th and 7th of September 2008. In the event participated several guests beyond Poland and thousands of Poznan citizens.> >gallery <<

  • Building 49.21 feet high miniature of the Eiffel Tower (the main element of the festival) started in May. Calculations were made by constructor Aleksander Augustyniak and the company Kseroplast Plus (from the area of Poznan) undertook making it. 4 tones of steal, 13.21 gallons of primer and pavement paint, 33.07 pounds of welding wire, 6 bottles of welding gas, 700 washers that imitates rivets, 4 meta-halogen lamps, electric wires, electricity, fuel, tools, specialist crane, the work of few people for two months and, last but not least, overnight transport under escort of the police and installation of the tower in the City Centre. The tower was here till the 15th of September.> >gallery<<

  • The auction of the tower (performed by Allegro portal) ended with the amount of 56,100 PLN (about 17,000 EUR). Elementary School No. 1 in Blachownia received part of the income (20,000 PLN). The picture presents: Andrzej Guła (the director of the above mention school) receiving nominal check from Dariusz Łabędzki, chairman of The “Billygoats” FSE Foundation. The Eiffel Tower was bought by (maintaining anonymity)businessman.
